The real Yang family general

The story of the Yang family generals has been widely circulated among the Chinese people. Their loyalty to the country and bloodshed on the battlefield have earned admiration and praise from many. Yang Yanzhao, as the sixth son in the story of the Yang family general, is best known for his highest talent and greatest achievements among the seven sons.
In the interpretation of various vernacular novels, Yang Yanzhao is the sixth son of Yang Ye, the Golden Knife Lord, and is referred to as Yang Liulang in order. His hometown is Linzhou. Yang Liulang is the most intelligent among the seven sons of the Yang family. He is brave and resourceful, skilled in both literature and martial arts. He uses a bare tassel dipped in a golden spear as a weapon, combining the advantages of his father and brother.
The Yang family is a prestigious family. After Liu Lang rescued the troops at Tongtai Pass, he was awarded the titles of Baoling Marquis and Commander in Chief of the Golden Spear Squad on both sides of the Palace Front for his contributions. Later, Yang Liulang fell in love with Princess Chai and they became husband and wife, having two sons, Yang Zongbao and Yang Zongmian.
The Battle of Jinshatan can be said to be the Battle of Meteors. Among the seven sons of the Yang family, only Yang Liulang successfully broke through the encirclement in the end, in accordance with the verse of the six sons' return.
Yang Liulang followed his brother to negotiate at Jinshatan. Unexpectedly, during the negotiation, Yang Dalang's disguise as Emperor Taizong of Song was exposed by Prince Tianqing, which triggered a battle. Under the heavy encirclement of the enemy, Yang Ye ordered Dalang Yanping, Erlang Yanding, and Sanlang Yanguang to attack from the left. Yang Ye, Liulang Yanzhao, and Qilang Yansi broke through through through the middle, while Silang Yanhui and Wulang Yan charged from the right.
In the face of heavy enemy encirclement and continuous increase in troops, only Yang Liulang managed to break out of the encirclement. Returning to the capital, Yang Liulang sued Pan Renmei for wanting to avenge his father and brother. However, at that time, Pan Renmei's daughter was the Emperor's beloved concubine, and the matter was eventually left unresolved. Finally, with the help of Kou Zhun, Pan Renmei was charged with being sent as a soldier. Yang Liulang was unwilling to let anyone harm his father and brother's lives, so he quickly took off. So with the help of Kou Zhun, he killed people on the way to send troops to Pan Renmei. Afterwards, he continued to guard the borders for the country, resist the Liao army, and became the commander of the Three Passes.
This is Yang Yanzhao in the novel. The real Yang Yanzhao in history was indeed a great general who fought against the Liao army. Under the guidance of his father, a famous anti Liao general of the Northern Song Dynasty, Yang Yanzhao also became an extremely outstanding general. During the battle against the Liao army, he fought bravely and with unparalleled strength, leaving a deep impression on both the enemy and the people. After the death of his father Yang Ye, Yang Yanzhao took on the heavy responsibility of guarding Hebei against the Liao army, dedicating his entire life to the country and the people.
In the script interpretation, Yang Yanzhao has seven sons, namely Dalang Yang Yanping, Erlang Yang Yanding, Sanlang Yang Yangguang, Silang Yang Yanhui, Wulang Yang Yancong, Liulang Yang Yanzhao, and Qilang Yang Yansi. Yang Yanzhao ranks sixth and is the sixth son of Yang Ye. But in real history, Yang Yanzhao was not Yang Ye's sixth son.
The History of Song records that Yang Ye did have seven sons, namely Yang Yanzhao, Yang Yanyu, Yang Yanpu, Yang Yanxun, Yang Yanggui, Yang Yanggui, and Yang Yanbin. But Yang Yanzhao is not Yang Ye's sixth son, but Yang Ye's eldest son.
The original biography of the History of Song states that the seven sons of Yang Ye were Lang, Pu, Xun, Gui, Gui, Bin, and Yu. The Biography of Yang Yanzhao states: "Yan Zhao, originally named Yan Lang". Based on this speculation, Yang Yanzhao is Yang Yanlang, and in order, he is the eldest son of Yang Ye. There are two views on why the eldest son is called Rokuro.
The first viewpoint is that Yang Yanzhao fought against the Liao army throughout his life and left a great reputation in the Liao army. The Liao people believed in the Big Dipper and believed that the sixth star in the Big Dipper was the enemy star of the Liao army, which was not good for the Liao country. Yang Yanzhao fought against the Liao people and dealt them a huge blow, so a saying gradually spread among the Liao army. They believe that Yang Yanzhao is actually the reincarnation of the sixth star in the Big Dipper, who came specifically to conquer the Liao Kingdom. So gradually, Yang Yanzhao was referred to as Liu Lang, hence the name Yang Liu Lang.
Another theory is that the Yang family is a big family. Although Yang Yanzhao is the eldest among the descendants of Yang Ye, he is actually the sixth in the family hierarchy. In ancient times, the sequence of each generation was usually referred to according to the order of the major family. So Yang Yanzhao is known as Yang Liulang.
