At the Yanmen Pass, "Duolun" merchants stayed in Fang for a hundred generations
To the right of the mountain lies Yanmen Pass, a north-south thoroughfare and an east-west thoroughfare stretching for dozens of miles. Sand and stones rise up, and flying springs emerge from all directions, standing tall and calling it a natural danger. Zen Master Zishan Quan never avoids hardships, dragging bowls along the way, chiseling mountains to open roads, connecting waterways, building floating bridges, lining ditches, and repairing sloping roads. So far, for more than 60 years, pedestrians have found it quite convenient. During the summer of Shu Shen, heavy rain continued, floods were a disaster, mountains formed abruptly, terrain was steep, and travel was abruptly interrupted. The road was far away, and there was no way to return. Living in a foreign land, there was no food to worry about. Upon witnessing this situation, Master Qingzhu was heartbroken and requested the assistance of the two major officials in Daozhou. He then transferred the request to the local gentry and officials to provide one copy of the fate book to each of the four towns in this city, in order to raise funds for those who needed it for business purposes. However, fearing that it would not be possible to meet the urgent needs, he temporarily borrowed 200 taels of money from each of them in order to complete the project. Later on, he raised funds to supplement the expenses, and if there was any surplus, he returned to the government. A fellow villager from Nanxiang respectfully sought the help of many business friends, and within a few days, he donated four hundred yuan. The success of this matter is due to the power of the business community, and it will be remembered forever.
