The poetry and calligraphy in the belly exude a natural charm (Part 1)
Wang Junfenggang, a famous figure in Daizhou. Any celebrity who becomes famous must have the ability to showcase themselves, such as the honor of their ancestors, the virtue of establishing themselves, and the achievements of their fame. Fenggang is known for its official honor, outstanding skills, loyalty and filial piety, and integrity. Despite setbacks, it perseveres and never gives up. Although it has gone through hardships, it has achieved success and earned its position through hard work. Its position is naturally upright.
Mr. Gao Zhang, Deputy Secretary of the Xinzhou Municipal Party Committee, once wrote a calligraphy piece in Fenggang that said: "The Hutuo waves shake the nine provinces, and the moon shines by Yanmen for thousands of years. The title reads: "Since ancient times, Daizhou has been known for its outstanding people and beautiful land, which can now be verified by the royal department. The 'Wang Bu' can attest to the outstanding people and talented land of Daizhou, who truly have a discerning eye for pearls. If it weren't for a profound understanding of the character of the 'royal tribe' and a commendation towards them, how could such a judgment be made lightly? Wang Fenggang is also a member of the "Wang tribe". At that time, he was serving as the Minister of Propaganda of Daixian County Committee. Being appreciated and expected by superiors is a joy in life for everyone. Fenggang is not only recognized by superiors, but its name of elegance and refinement is deeply rooted in the land of Yanmen, and is highly respected by people from all walks of life.
Wang Fenggang, also known as Zixiang and Yanmen Yitu. An ordinary farmer's child from Dongma Village, Zaolin Town, Dai County. The land of jujube forests is known for its beautiful and graceful appearance. It was named after the widespread planting of jujube trees and the formation of a lush forest in ancient times. Cultivating forests with thick soil and nurturing people with red dates has always been a place where outstanding people emerge. Fenggang was born and raised in this place, receiving the spiritual energy of mountains and rivers, nurturing its own grandeur, being quick to learn, aspiring to benefit the world, following the example of Confucianism, understanding Buddhism through the passage, specializing in Marxism Leninism and exploring hundreds of schools, and being knowledgeable about the past and present; Skilled in calligraphy and fond of root carving, skilled in writing and love for inscriptions and stones, drawing on the strengths of others, and establishing its own style. It combines the roles of deputy county magistrate, writer, poet, calligrapher, and root carving artist, and is truly renowned. How can a clear name be earned?
Nowadays, Fenggang has been elevated to the position of Deputy County Mayor, and its calligraphy and writing are advancing day by day. Recently, when I saw his calligraphy masterpiece again - 'Spring in Qinyuan, Changsha', I couldn't help but marvel at it. As the poem goes, "The belly holds the poetic and scholarly aura, and the chest is imbued with the essence of bamboo, connecting the spirit. Fenggang's work can be interpreted as such. The whole piece is majestic and full of spirit. Mo Fei startles the red, pen strokes swim the dragon, vigorous and majestic, and full of joy. Throughout the entire volume, the brushwork is vigorous and powerful, with an imposing presence that blends seamlessly with the wind and clouds. The strokes are full of vigor and vitality, exuding a soaring rhythm. The ink is thick and light, natural and unrestrained, with a confident stroke, regardless of the clumsiness of the work, rushing and unrestrained, relaxed and unrestrained, grand and majestic, and naturally rich.
As the saying goes, "Books are the voice of the heart. At the time when Fenggang wrote this work, his career was not satisfactory. However, his ability to maintain a calm attitude in adversity, devote himself to the study of calligraphy, and achieve this excellent work is beyond the reach of ordinary people. This shows his noble and upright spirit.
Fenggang is good at writing books, especially in large format, making them excellent candidates for the imperial examination. On top of the grand and elegant propaganda, he wielded his brush and ink, leaped freely, opened and closed with great ease, flipped and moved with ease. In the midst of rising winds and surging clouds, a masterpiece of tiger roar and wind swept through the air, showcasing its unique skills that are truly awe inspiring. In today's world of calligraphy, there are many people who are good at writing, but there are few who can make it to the imperial examination. Due to the extremely difficult nature of the imperial examination, the use of pen is different from the usual method. Due to the large size of the characters, adjustments to the position and perspective of the strokes, the speed of the strokes, the transition of the center and sides, and the control of the rhythm not only require wrist and arm strength, but also rely on the strength of the waist and even the whole body. As the saying goes, the roar of the dragon and tiger has a sense of arrogance. Those who do not have big hands, eyes, courage, and broad mindedness dare not do it, but what is good about Fenggang.
Fenggang studied calligraphy and entered the willow tree, with a vigorous and elegant writing style.   With a strong and majestic physique, it gives people a sense of grandeur and elegance in art.
I had the privilege of working with Fenggang in the publicity department, where he was the minister and I was a staff member, with a clear distinction between hierarchy. Fenggang never shows arrogance towards officials, regulates oneself and tolerates others, and is friendly to corporal. When I respected Fenggang as my teacher and learned calligraphy, I was even more impressed by Fenggang's plain, upright, straightforward, and honest character. It is truly fortunate to have met such a leader in life. Sorry to leave in a hurry for four years, but for me, it has been a lifelong benefit. Good teachers and good friends, what can a husband ask for.
As the saying goes in Fenggang, the key to learning calligraphy lies in studying the law and respecting it without being bound by it. One should be indifferent to fame and fortune while maintaining a calm state of mind. One should be free to indulge in emotions and emotions while also being able to focus and concentrate. Only by following the natural and sincere teachings of the imperial family can one cultivate one's body and mind in a state of spiritual enlightenment and transformation. Writing not only cultivates one's character, but also cultivates one's knowledge. Calligraphy art is closely related to literature, poetry, music, painting, dance, philosophy, and aesthetics. To write well, one must delve into these related arts, improve their aesthetic concepts unconsciously, purify their soul, and elevate their ideals in a transcendent mind. The true essence of this honest and sincere book.
Fenggang often writes books about drunkenness, annoyance, and joy, expressing emotions in drunkenness, relieving restlessness in annoyance, and understanding hearts in joy. Every time, exquisite works are produced one after another. Often accompanying Fenggang to write books, one knows the three flavors. During leisure time for official duties, it is common for Fenggang to read posts behind closed doors. When they reach a point of understanding, they do not feel the itch in their hearts, so they spread paper and wet their pens. When I write about my pride, my heart blooms with self satisfaction, my emotions are radiant, and I am truly enjoying the joys of life.
At times of hardship and disappointment in life, literati often express their anger and frustration through complaints and grievances, while calligrapher Fenggang unleashes his inner turmoil through his writings, bathing in the spirit of expanding his talents. Waving with a brush and ink, freely galloping, the brushwork is majestic and vigorous, the wind rises and clouds surge, like a big wave washing sand in the ups and downs and gentle movements. With a wash of depressed thoughts, the book is written into a brush, already full of vitality, awe inspiring and open-minded.
After drinking, Fenggang is full of vitality and emotions, which are reflected in the writing. Unwavering in favor or disgrace, leaving or leaving at will, with intricate brushstrokes, wandering beyond objects, exuding a graceful and unrestrained aura, soaring freely in the vast ocean, with dragons flying and phoenixes soaring, full of pain and pleasure. I yearn for the essence outside, my emotions sway after getting drunk, and I forget both things with joy. The unity of the calligrapher and the writer leads me to the pinnacle of the literary world between confusion and clarity.
Confucius said, "To excel in learning is to serve, and to excel in serving is to learn. Fenggang can be said to be well versed in this field. Many of his skills were learned and honed during the period of 'serving and being excellent'. Due to its elegant taste, wide range of hobbies, quick witted and eager to learn, and boundless imagination, it has achieved success in various arts and crafts. Root carving is another world-renowned skill beyond calligraphy. More than a decade ago, Fenggang's root carvings won gold medals at the provincial arts and crafts exhibition, and many of their works have been collected by overseas individuals. The art of root carving is admired and admired by ordinary people, but they dare not venture into it. This is because the production of root carving requires intricate craftsmanship, and the first step is to have the skills of a carpenter. Axes, saws, chisels, and files must be skilled in all aspects and proficient in each piece. More importantly, one must have a unique artistic vision and the artistic drive to turn decay into magic. Without this, even the best carpenter can only be a craftsman and cannot become a root carving artist. Fenggang's ability to cherish leisure time and achieve great success through his official duties is inseparable from his character, taste, and profound artistic foundation.
The raw materials required for root carving are all considered lifeless dead wood and branches, which cannot be used for righteous purposes. Fenggang is good at arising from nothing, seeing life through death, and doing things that cannot be done in the middle. Fenggang carved roots, with unique insight. The ancestral tradition is natural, with slight embellishment and a few cuts, the posture suddenly emerges, the mood is vigorous, and the wonderful meaning is naturally formed. Beauty lies in the simplicity, and spirit lies in craftsmanship.
Fenggang once said that the way to root art lies in one heart. Carving roots is actually carving people and carving spirit. The first step in root carving is to seek and identify roots. The process of root carving is actually a process of communication and dialogue with roots. Artists carve roots, root carving artists. Every piece of work embodies the tacit understanding and harmony between the carver and the root. In a sense, it is the relationship between Bole and Qianlima, and Qianlima and Bole. People search for their roots, and their roots envy others. Between human roots, there exists a divine path of cultivation. Abandoned in the wilderness without anyone to ask, like a thousand mile horse spinning on a grinding path and being trapped, it is the tragedy of the world. Fenggang is willing to seek and carve roots, which is actually an external manifestation of its noble inner world of valuing righteousness and emotions, being kind and benevolent, respecting talents, paying attention to people's livelihood, generously helping others, and daring to contribute.
Once went out with Fenggang to search for roots. Fenggang said that the root of the plain is difficult to become a great vessel. Due to its fertile soil and beautiful water, it grows smoothly and without difficulties, making it difficult to form a unique shape. And the "stubborn thorns" in the mountains are mostly born between the crevices of cliffs and rocks, with difficult roots. They rush left and right in the midst of squeezing and embarrassment, and although they are rugged and stubborn, they contain the passion for life, including strength, integrity, endurance, courage, and extraordinary posture. Due to encountering obstacles, it is tangible and tangible; Due to its compression, it can bend and stretch; Because it has life, it sees spirit. Roots always exist, but those who carve roots are not often found. Roots are often hidden underground and not visible from the sky. Root seekers often see tree crowns but find it difficult to recognize roots. Isn't searching for roots the same as recognizing jade? Therefore, Fenggang searches for its roots, often regardless of its size, beauty, or ugliness, and sees it with joy, returning with a full load. Some roots are like old acquaintances at first sight, a quick and wonderful product. If there are roots, appreciate them carefully. It is not a matter of mutual understanding, but rather of doing them lightly. The spiritual objects of the roots, the heavens and the earth, the marvelous nature of creation can be understood through appreciating the roots, and the encounter can be enjoyed through carving the roots. The high interest and emotions of Fenggang are beyond the reach of ordinary people.
The art of Fenggang is not only limited to calligraphy and root carving, but also proficient in poetry, calligraphy, seal carving, dance, singing, speech and debate. Commonly seen in Fenggang, impromptu poetry is composed with clear rules and fresh lyrics; Turn the stone into stone, the sword technique is fierce; Fluttering on the dance floor, with graceful steps; Talking about classics and Taoism, with endless words; The mountain songs are answered and the fishing songs are sung to each other, even the third sister cannot bend her will. Famous writer Feng Lingzhi wrote in the preface of "The Flying Wild Goose Formation" (a collection of poems co authored by Fenggang and his poetry friends): "A poet from his hometown has a strong modern consciousness, and can even be said to have a slight 'foreign' atmosphere. Even if this poet is placed in a big occasion, he will still express himself freely. Because he represents the integration of hometown and modern consciousness and the exploration of the future. He comprehensively showcases the source and flow of Yanmen culture." This "poet from his hometown" is referring to Fenggang, the elegant and high scholar, Yanmen, and the land, speaking with sincerity and ease.
